Meet Our Team

  • Cynthia, founder and creator of Luna Nueva Wellness, is a bilingual, (English/Spanish) licensed clinical mental health therapist and certified E-RYT 500, YACEP yoga & meditation educator. In addition, she is a professional life coach trained through the University of Miami. Cynthia has extensive experience working in the nonprofit sector as a case-management program manager and crisis intervention manager.

    Cynthia has been teaching yoga & meditation teacher trainings since 2015 and leading international retreats since 2014. She specializes in teaching mindfulness-based stress management techniques with recently arrived migrant-youth from Latin America in Montgomery County Public Schools. 

    Cynthia was previously a national brand ambassador for Fitbit and is currently a national ambassador for Outdoor Voices. She has been featured as an expert yoga instructor in Good Morning Washington and NBC News 4 Washington. She has also been featured in publications such as The Washingtonian, Byrdie Beauty, The Thirty by Byrdie, Brightest Young Things, and more. She has led retreats around the world to places such as Egypt, Peru, Morocco, and Costa Rica.

  • Tiziana DiFabio, MPH, MSW, LCSW-C is a bilingual (English/Spanish) psychotherapist. She has had the privilege of serving youth and adults through her practice, True Connection Counseling. Therapeutically, she addresses issues related to: trauma and stress related disorders (adjustment disorders, PTSD, complex trauma), grief, depression, and anxiety. Tiziana believes that feeling connected to self, others, and community is the vehicle for healing. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses cognitive, relational and somatic approaches in therapy.

  • Andreina Leon is a native of Venezuela. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and a certified Personal Trainer & Nutritional Coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Andreina received her degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Central de Venezuela. In 2016, she migrated to the DC metro area and discovered her real passion: helping others through fitness. Andreina specializes in providing personalized fitness programs and leads online fitness programs for Spanish speakers throughout Latin America and Spain.

    Andreina believes that movement is a powerful tool for healing both the mind and body. Through movement, she believes one can access their confidence and unlock their full potential.

  • By day, Alexis Reed (she/her) is a marketing professional in the DC Metro Area. By night, she is a group fitness instructor, trauma-informed yoga teacher (RYT 500), youth volleyball coach, and healthy lifestyle writer. She hosts The Sweat Fearlessly Podcast and is Co-Founder of DMV Fitness Fam, a local group that promotes diversity in fitness and the great outdoors. Her philosophy is to “Sweat Fearlessly” – having fun and enjoying fitness without worrying about how you look or what other people may think about you.
